Single Parents Support Group

The 2000 Census reveals that single parent head-of-household families are the fastest growing demographic in the country. In addition to general parenting education and information, this vital program gives parents the opportunity to work through, in a supportive environment, special issues related to single parenthood such as custody and visitation concerns, the stress of raising a child or children alone, finding affordable childcare, finances, employer relations, and legal resources.

A thematic childcare curriculum is offered for the Single Parents Support Group, where custom-designed expressive arts activities are used to help the children to explore common themes in single parent families while encouraging the development of healthy communication techniques and positive solutions to family problems.

When: Wednesdays 6:00-8:00 pm
Where: The Rockland Parent-Child Center
Registration Information: FREE. Included Art Therapy for kids.
