RPCC’s Early Childhood Playgroups support and educate parents and caregivers during the crucial first three years of their children’s intellectual, moral, emotional and physical growth. Parents of Infants Group
Parents/caregivers of infants come relax in our comfortable living room. Use the time to de-stress, ask questions and share this extraordinary time with others in a similar situation. Gain information about your growing baby and issues of importance to you, your child and your family. A group facilitator provides a welcoming atmosphere where parent and infant can interact and connect, and models age appropriate infant interaction. Visiting specialists provide information on nutrition, infant care and development, and the facilitator and parents provide links to community resources.
When: 1-3 pm, Mondays & Thursdays, September - June
Ages: birth - 12 months
Parents and Toddlers Together
Parents/caregivers of toddlers use the indoor and outdoor play areas of our cozy building to experience an enjoyable morning with other parents while your children play in an informal, warmly supported setting. Gain parenting insights and developmental information as your growing toddlers learns from peers. Our professional facilitator connects families with each other and guides children and parents through a schedule of free play, art activities, snacks and circle time group activities. Visiting specialists provide information on health, motor, cognitive and psychosocial development, and effective parenting strategies. Parents learn from both the staff and other parents, and families are encouraged to connect with their neighbors and get involved with other community support systems. Resource Library of parenting books and articles are available to both group members and the community at large.
When: 9:30 am - 12pm, Monday - Friday, September - June

Typical Daily Playgroup Schedule
9:30 -10:30 greetings and free play
10:30-11:00 snack time and announcements
11:00-11:30 circle time with songs, finger play, and story time
11:30-11:45 creative art time/simple project
11:45-12:00 clean up and goodbye
Registration information: Fees for these programs are on a sliding scale, based on family income. Full and partial scholarships are readily available. Registrations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, until the program is full. Please call (845) 358-7777 to register.
